News from the Department of Grants Compliance and Oversight: Hurricane Harvey Guidance and FAQ

TEA’s Department of Grants Compliance and Oversight has posted a guidance and FAQ regarding the impact on federal grant funds of the Hurricane Harvey disaster.

The guidance is directed specifically to LEAs impacted by Hurricane Harvey (either LEAs located in counties identified in the governor’s disaster declaration or LEAs receiving evacuee students) and addresses the following topics:

  • Procurement
  • Deadlines and due dates
  • Audit and monitoring
  • Allowable use of funds
  • Maintenance of effort
  • Additional funding or flexibility

Find the guidance posted on the Administering a Grant page of the TEA website. The guidance is also posted on TEA’s Hurricane Harvey Resources page, alone with materials from other areas of the agency intended to aid local educational agencies (LEAs) and families in dealing with Harvey’s aftermath as it relates to the public school children of Texas.
