Application Deadlines Extended

Due to the severe hardship created by Hurricane Harvey for many local educational agencies, the Texas Education Agency is extending the due date to September 11, 2017, for the following grant applications:

• 2017-2018 ESC IDEA-B Sensory Impairments
• 2017-2018 ESC State Gifted and Talented
• 2017-2018 ESC Title I, Part C Migrant Basic Services Grant Application
• 2017-2018 ESC Title III, Part A Basic Services Grant Application
• 2017-2018 ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application
• 2017-2018 IDEA-B Discretionary Other 1, 2, 3, and 4 Consolidated Application
• 2017-2018 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application
• 2017-2018 Special Education ESC Liaison Grant Application
• 2017-2018 Title I, Part B Carl D Perkins Institutions Grant Application
• 2017-2018 Title I, Part C Carl D Perkins Career and Technical Education Act Grant Application

Other grant-related deadlines will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Reminder - ESSA Title I, Part A Email Update

• A new email address is available for Title I, Part A support. This email replaces NCLB@tea.texas.gov.
• All Title I, Part A and Ed-Flex questions should be sent to: ESSAsupport@tea.texas.gov.

Private Nonprofit (PNP) Equitable Services

• The deadline for PNP Affirmation of Consultation signed forms has been extended to September 11, 2017, and should be submitted through GFFC Reports on the TEA website.
• New - The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Private Nonprofit School (PNP) Equitable Services: Frequently Asked Questions, Preliminary Guidance from the Texas Education Agency, has been posted to the PNP webpage: http://tea.texas.gov/Finance_and_Grants/Grants/Administering_a_Grant/ESSA_Private_School_Equitable_Services.
• All PNP questions should be sent to: PNPombudsman@tea.texas.gov.

Reminder - Grants Oversight Compliance Statewide Training – September 12, 2017

• Register online by September 5. There is no confirmation email following registration, only a confirmation screen online.
• The training is from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center at 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd., Austin, TX, 78723.
• No food, drinks, or water bottles will be allowed in the auditorium.

• The day will conclude with a Q&A session with the Department of Grants Compliance and Oversight Associate Commissioner and directors of the Grants Administration, Federal Fiscal Monitoring, and Federal Fiscal Compliance and Reporting Divisions.

Substitute System of Federal Time-and-Effort Reporting for School Year 2017–2018

Local educational agencies (LEAs) may now request approval to use the substitute system of federal time-and-effort reporting for the 2017–2018 school year.

You may submit the management certification throughout the year. The time of submission will determine when you may use the substitute system for the 2017–2018 school year.
