Title I, Part A Schoolwide Programs Webinar Series Focusing on Fiscal Issues

The Office for Grants and Federal Fiscal Compliance has published a new pre-recorded webinar on fiscal issues related to Title I, Part A schoolwide programs. The new webinar is #5 in a series, and describes how LEAs with schoolwide campuses should establish an accounting methodology for schoolwide program expenditures, and how they should notify TEA about their plans for schoolwide campuses using the NCLB Consolidated Federal Grant Application.

The webinar is available on the schoolwide programs home page.

Previous webinars covered other basic steps for LEAs that plan to operate schoolwide programs in the 2016–2017 school year, including consolidation options, creating schoolwide program budgets, and passing the supplemental funds test. These webinars are also available on the schoolwide programs home page.

The next three webinars will provide step-by-step guidance about how LEAs should set up their own accounting systems to administer consolidated funds and how to account for schoolwide program expenditures in their general ledgers.

The final webinar (Webinar #9) will focus on federal subrecipient monitoring of schoolwide programs, including LEA and campus responsibilities to maintain adequate documentation, and specific items that TEA monitors verify when they review LEAs with schoolwide programs.

The webinars will be published according to the following schedule:

Webinar #6:     April 15, 2016

Webinar #7:     April 29, 2016

Webinar #8:     May 13, 2016

Webinar #9:     May 27, 2016
