Video Contest in Full Swing

The Take Care of Texas Video Contest is a chance for 6th-12th grade students to showcase their directing skills for a chance to win scholarships and prizes. Students are to create a 30-second video with a positive message about taking care of Texas’ environment.

Waste Management of Texas, Inc. will provide six prizes to the top winners. The top three videos from 9th-12th graders will receive scholarship funds of $2,500, $1,500, and $500. The top three 6th-8th grade winners will receive GoPro camera packages.

The TCEQ honors companies, organizations and individuals who achieve excellence in environmental protection and preservation with the annual Texas Environmental Excellence Awards.
Award categories include agriculture, civic/community, education, environmental educator of the year, individual, innovative operations/ management, technical/ technology, pollution prevention, water conservation, and youth.
