The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO's Christmas & New Year Holiday Schedule

METRO will follow this schedule over the Christmas and New Year's holidays:

Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 (Christmas Eve)

  • Local buses and METRORail will run on a normal weekday schedule.
  • Park & Ride routes will run regular schedules with select routes offering additional trips from downtown as follows: 

Every 15 minutes:

  • 209 Kuykendahl/Spring (starting 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m.)
  • 219 Cypress/Northwest Station/West Little York (starting 12:30 p.m. until
    3 p.m. - this route will serve the Cypress Park & Ride for this day only)
  • 229: Grand Parkway/Kingsland/Addicks (starting 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. - this route will serve the Grand Parkway for this day only)
  • 249 Monroe/Fuqua/Bay Area (starting 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.)
  • 259 Kingwood/Townsen/Eastex (starting 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m.)
  • 269 Westwood/West Bellfort (starting 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.) 

Every 30 minutes:

  • 236 Maxey Road/Baytown (starting 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.)
  • 274 Westchase/Gessner (starting 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.)

Park & Ride routes not listed above will operate regular p.m. service beginning at approximately 3 p.m. Please check your route's schedule for the correct times.

Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014 (Christmas Day)

  • Local buses will run on a Sunday schedule.
  • METRORail will run on a Sunday schedule.
  • There will be no Park & Ride service.

Friday, Dec. 26, 2014

  • Local buses, Park & Ride and METRORail will run on a normal weekday schedule.

Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 (New Year's Eve)

  • Local buses, Park & Ride and METRORail will run on a normal weekday schedule.

Thursday, Jan. 1, 2014 (New Year's Day)

  • Local buses will run on a Sunday schedule.
  • METRORail will run on a Saturday schedule.
  • There will be no Park & Ride service.

Friday, Jan. 2, 2014 

  • Local buses, Park & Ride and METRORail will run on a normal weekday schedule.

Ridestore and Lost & Found Hours:
Closed: 

  • Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) 
  • Thursday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day)

Open:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 24 
  • Friday, Dec. 26
