The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO’s services also include: Star Vanpool, METROLift, HOV lanes, HOT lanes, Bikes-on-Buses/Trains program, Park & Ride, and road improvement projects. AREA VETERANS SALUTED WITH FREE METRO RIDES TUES., NOV. 11

METRO Salutes Veterams

METRO will offer free rides to all veterans and active military personnel on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 in honor of Veterans Day.

Fares will be waived on METRO (local bus/Park & Ride/METRORail and METROLift). Before boarding, simply let the vehicle’s operator know that you are a veteran or active duty member of the armed services.

METRO recognizes the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
