The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Bus Detours & Partial Red Line Shutdown This Weekend

The Houston Club building located at 811 Rusk is scheduled to be imploded on Sunday, Oct. 19, which will result in impacts to METRO service. 


As crews prepare the area, the following METRO bus routes will be detoured starting Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.

  • 3 W. Gray
  • 37 El Sol
  • 44 Acres Homes
  • 56 Airline
  • 78 Irvington
  • 102 Bush IAH
  • 108 Veterans Memorial
  • 137 Northshore
  • 209 Kuykendahl/Spring P&R
  • 249 Bay Area/Fuqua/Monroe
  • 259 Kingwood/Townsend/Eastex P&R

Additional routes will be detoured beginning on Sunday, Oct. 19, at the start of service. For a complete list of the routes impacted, click here

PARTIAL METRORAIL SHUTDOWN

There will be no rail service between the Downtown Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center on Sunday, Oct. 19, from the start of service until 5 p.m. Customers will be served by shuttle buses operating every 10 minutes during regular rail service hours.  Click here for information on the service interruption. 

The Red Line will operate on a normal schedule between Fannin South and the Downtown Transit Center.
