The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. METRO Invites Public to Share Views on Harrisburg Overpass

METRO Chairman Gilbert Garcia, members of the METRO Board, and elected officials invite the East End community to provide input on the Harrisburg Overpass in a series of meetings which convene again on Tuesday, Sept. 2. 2014.  

The meetings, which began in July, extend into September at METRO's Service & Inspection Facility at 5880 Texas Avenue, in the Community Room.

Public meetings regarding the Hughes St. Overpass: 

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 6:00 p.m. – Harrisburg Overpass Public Meeting

Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6:00 p.m. – Community Follow-Up Public Meeting

METRO wants your input on the design for the new overpass, which is part of the Green/East End Line. The line is currently under construction and slated to open (to Altic St.) for service beginning later this year. The new overpass, which is undergoing review before construction, will be located on Harrisburg Boulevard at the railroad crossing, just west of Hughes Street.
