METRO has received about 1,100 comments on its System Reimagining draft plan - a project designed to make it easier to use the system, and connect more people to more places with seven-day-a-week service.
The next step takes the five-year draft before the METRO Board of Directors for discussion and review next week.

During the Aug. 28 board meeting, METRO staff will present proposed modifications to the draft that aim to address many of the public comments received. Proposals that are accepted by the board will be included in the final plan, which will be presented for a vote by the board at its Sept. 25 meeting.
The System Reimagining draft was unveiled in May 2014, and that kicked off a two-month public comment period. During this time, METRO also hosted a series of community meetings, and staff visited numerous transit centers to speak with our customers about the project, which:
- more than doubles the number of frequent routes
- reduces wait times at bus stops
- greatly expands weekend service
- offers simpler, straighter routes
- improves connectivity between bus and rail

Editor's note: Please note the Aug. 28 regularly scheduled METRO Board meeting will primarily focus on System Reimagining. Media interviews will be conducted immediately following the board meeting.
