The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. No METRORail Service this Weekend

The entire Red Line is scheduled to shutdown Friday at 8 p.m. for the weekend due to planned construction for Methodist Hospital and METRORail expansion activity.

WHEN: Friday, July 25, 8 p.m. until normal service resumes Monday, July 28, at 4:30 a.m.

WHERE: All rail stations will be closed; no service from Northline Transit Center to Fannin South station

Customers traveling the impacted area will be served by rail "shuttle" buses running every 10 minutes during regular rail service hours.

METRORail is expected to resume service at 4:30 a.m., Monday, July 28.
