The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO'S July Fourth Holiday Schedule

In observance of Independence Day, METRO will operate on the following schedule Friday, July 4th:

  • METRO buses will operate a Sunday schedule of service.
  • METRORail will operate a Saturday schedule of service.
  • There will be no Park & Ride service on Friday. 
  • METRO's RideStores and Lost & Found will be closed.

METROLift’s reservations and customer service offices will be closed Friday, July 4, 2014. As a result, all subscription trips will be cancelled. To schedule a trip for Friday, July 4, 2014, through Monday, July 7, 2014, you must call the reservation line at 713-225-6716 on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

METRO’s Customer Care Center will be open Friday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be contacted through METROLine at 713-635-4000 or 713-635-6993 (TDD).
