METRORail Partial Weekend Shutdown

METRO rail expansion work will require the partial shutdown of the Red Line over the weekend.

No METRORail service will be available between the Downtown Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center. The closure begins at 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, until normal service resumes at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27.

METRO will operate "700 Rail Shuttle" buses every 10 minutes during regular rail service hours.

Please click here to view the map marked with shuttle bus locations. Customers should expect longer travel times during this service interruption.

Reminder - if you have plans to head to Galveston over the holiday weekend, the I-45 South HOV lane will be open  for vehicles with two ore more passengers. Click here for the details.
