The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO’s services also include: Star Vanpool, METROLift, HOV lanes, HOT lanes, Bikes-on-Buses/Trains program, Park & Ride, and road improvement projects. METRORail Partial Weekend Shutdown

METRO rail expansion work will require the partial shutdown of the Red Line over the weekend.

No METRORail service will be available between the Downtown Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center. The closure begins at 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, until normal service resumes at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27.

METRO will operate "700 Rail Shuttle" buses every 10 minutes during regular rail service hours.

Reminder - if you have plans to head to Galveston over the holiday weekend, the I-45 South HOV lane will be open for vehicles with two ore more passengers. Click here for the details.
