The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Transit Reimagining

METRO's draft five-year transit plan is ready for the public to view and chime in.

Transit System Reimagining kicked off just over a year ago with the mission to develop a transit system that more people can use to get to more places.  The plan delivers on many fronts:

  • More than doubles number of frequent routes
  • Greatly expands weekend service  
  • Offers simpler, straighter routes 
  • Improved connectivity between bus and rail

Who: METRO Board Members and staff consider major transit overhaul

What: Strategic Planning Committee Meeting
