The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. METRORail Service Interruptions for the Weekend

Portions of the Red Line will temporarily shutdown over the weekend due to rail construction activities. Customers will be served by rail shuttle buses in the impacted areas.

The planned closures begin at 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, until normal service resumes at 9 p.m., Sunday, April 13. 

No METRORail service will be available at the following locations:

  • Friday, April 11, 9:00 p.m. - 3:30 a.m. (end of service) - no service between Downtown Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center
  • Saturday, April 12, 4:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. - no service  between the
    TMC Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center;
    7:00 p.m. - 3:30 a.m. (end of service) - no service between the Downtown Transit ACenter and the Northline Transit Center
  • Sunday, April 13, 4:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. - no service between the Downtown Transit Center and the Northline Transit Center

Customers can board the "700 Rail Shuttle" buses which will run every 10 minutes during regular METRORail service hours. Shuttle bus stop locations are available by clicking here. Customers should expect longer travel times during the service interruption.
