The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO to Open HOT/HOV Lanes for Afternoon Rush Hour

METRO safety staff and MPD checked all five HOV/HOT lanes and all are safe to operate.

All METRO HOV/HOT lanes will open for the afternoon rush hour:

US 290
45 North
45 South
59 North
59 South

METRO operates about 84-miles of HOV lanes and this morning, there were about 24 ramps and connectors with ice making it unsafe to travel. We appreciate our customers and their patience.
