New Member Joins METRO Board

Diann Lewter, a long-time Houston resident and business development professional, has joined the METRO Board.

Lewter was appointed earlier today at Houston City Council by Mayor Annise Parker and was sworn in during today's special board meeting.

The new board member has served as Director of the Business Development Program for Central Houston and Economic Development Director of the Downtown District. Other posts Lewter has held includes Sr Vice President of Business Development and Operations Manager for a large real estate company.

Lewter served on the board of AIDS Foundation Houston, Hermann Park Conservancy and Leadership Houston among others. She has also received several awards and recognitions for her work and civic engagement.

Lewter replaces Carrin Patman, who chaired the Government and Public Affairs Committee. Patman left her post last month.
