Beginning this weekend, bus shuttle service will be provided along METRORail's Red Line to allow work crews to remove a construction crane in Midtown. Transit service modifications will begin at the start of service Saturday, April 24, 2021, and continue until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 25.
Free two-way bus shuttles will replace train service between Fannin South and Downtown Transit Center stations during this period. Bus shuttles will run every 15 minutes or sooner. METRO staff and/or platform signage will direct riders to board at nearby bus shuttle stops. A list of shuttle stops can be found here.
Additionally, a major trackwork project on the Red Line between Fannin South and Smith Lands stations continues. The project, which includes track, crossing and drainage improvements, is currently in a testing phase. The date for the resumption of regular service will be announced in early May once testing is complete.
Red Line customers should allow additional travel time. METRO's TRIP App and Next Bus Arrival Texting service may not reflect accurate departure and arrival information during this time. Please monitor METRO's Twitter and Facebook pages for updates. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system.
Customers may also contact METRO's Customer Service Center at 713-635-4000 if they have any questions or need trip planning information.
