METRO Salutes Frontline Workers by Sounding the Horn
What: METRO will join a national coordinated day of action to honor transportation workers and the Authority will go a step further by also honoring our region's health care workers and first responders.
The #SoundtheHorn campaign is a nationwide tribute to transit heroes who are serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 public health crisis.
Separately, METRO will also sound its fleet of bus and light rail train horns to honor regional doctors, nurses, EMT’s, police, firefighters and other essential employees.
When: All trains and buses running in service will give two one-second horn blasts on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at:
- 1 p.m. to honor health care workers, first responders and other essential workers.
- 2 p.m. to honor public transportation workers.
