Alert #2: HOV/HOT Lanes to Remain Closed, METRORail to Resume

METRO HOV/HOT Lanes will remain closed today due to flooding conditions in the lanes. This includes managed lanes on the following corridors: IH-45 S, IH-45 N, US-59 N, US-59 S & US 290. Staff will assess conditions early tomorrow, to determine if the lanes can be reopened for the Friday morning commute.

METRORail service is resuming on the Red, Green and Purple lines. However customers should expect lengthy delays. 

Due to continuing flood conditions, service on local bus and Park & Rides routes remain suspended. METROLift will provide return trips to customers as soon as the roadways are clear and it’s safe to travel.    

METRO advises customers to stay informed by monitoring the local forecast, the agency's social media accounts Twitter, Facebook, and by subscribing to real-time, personalized route information through our service alerts system . 

Please also note the following:

• Customers may experience delays when calling METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000 during this period.
• Current roadway conditions are available on TranStar’s Real-Time Traffic Map. 
• Sharing resources with METRO to serve the area are: Harris County, City of Houston and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with websites providing information about safety, weather, traffic and more during emergencies.
