METRO to Unveil Art Shelter Designed by Local Students

Garden Oaks Montessori Students Display Their Art in Transit

A pop of color is coming to the Garden Oaks area. Friday, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO), along with students and staff from Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet School, will unveil a nearby bus shelter that has been transformed into a work of art.

The bus shelter, located at northwest corner of North Shepherd Drive and Garden Oaks Boulevard, will feature an environmental science themed design created by the students of Ms. Ding Tian's art class. The stop was chosen because of its location along METRO's 27 Shepherd and 36 Kempwood routes and because it is frequently used by students and their families.
