Alert #10: METRO Resumes Normal Operations on Most Routes, Offers Tips for New Riders

Bus

METRO is bringing several more bus routes into service as many customers head back to work tomorrow.  The Authority is working to resume normal operation on a handful of routes that are still being evaluated.  Those routes not in service are listed below:

  • 46 Gessner
  • 51 Hardy-Kelly
  • 67 Dairy Ashford
  • 75 Eldridge
  • 153 Harwin Express
  • 161 Wilcrest Express
  • 162 Memorial Express

METRO will open most HOV/HOT Lanes tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 5. The one exception will be I-45 North, where crews are still assessing the safety of that route. All METRO buses and other vehicles which normally travel this corridor will be detoured.

All Park & Ride facilities will also be operational Tuesday.  That includes METRO's newest commuter service, the El Dorado Park & Ride, located at 203 W. El Dorado Blvd., Friendswood, Texas 77546.

METRORail Red Line is fully operational. The Green Line is operating between Magnolia Park Transit Center and EaDo/Stadium stations. The Purple Line is operating between Palm Center and EaDo/Stadium.  Bus shuttles are in place from EaDo and Theatre District rail stations.

METROLift has resumed regular service. Trips should be scheduled one day in advance in the normal manner: Online or by calling 713-225-6716 or 713-225-0410.
