The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on METRO’s network, METRORail's system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). METRO HOLIDAY SCHEDULE AND CLOSURES FOR JULY 4TH

METRO will operate the following schedule on Tuesday, Jul. 4, 2017:

    • METRO buses will run on a Sunday schedule of service (see schedules for each local route).
    • No METRO Park & Ride service.
    • METRORail will run on a Saturday schedule of service. (see schedules for Red, Green and Purple lines.)
    • All HOV/HOT Lanes (IH-45 S, IH-45 N, US-59 N, US-59S & US 290) will be closed.
    • All METRO RideStores and Lost & Found will be closed.
    • METRO’s Customer Care Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be contacted at 713-635-4000 or 713-635-6993 (TDD).

    Reservations for METROLift:

    • METROLift Reservations and METROLift Customer Service offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, 2017. 
    • Tuesday subscription trips will be cancelled. To schedule a trip for Tuesday, July 4, or Wednesday, July 5, call the Reservation line at 713-225-6716 on Monday, July 3, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
    • Clients may also schedule a trip the day before travel by using MACS at 713-739-4690 or MACS-WEB or MACS-WEB screen reader version between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please have client ID and password ready.
