A
bus bridge will be used this weekend to assist Green Line
passengers whose usual METRORail ride is not available due to this weekend’s signal improvement work.
The bus
bridge begins Friday, Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. and runs to Monday, Dec. 12 when rail service resumes.
The bridge extends along the Green Line from
between Theater District and Altic/Howard Hughes stations.
METRORail Purple Line service between these points will also
be impacted.
METRO will provide service via buses labeled "800 Shuttle" to bridge the closure and transport affected passengers. Signs at closed rail platforms will guide riders to nearby rail shuttle stops. Shuttle buses are scheduled every 10 minutes, but please allow for extra time to complete trips. METRO staff will also be on hand to assist riders during normal rail service hours. A bus bridge map can be found here.
This signal improvement work addresses axle counter malfunctions that have slowed METRORail service and increased travel time for drivers at rail crossings.
