METRORail's Green and Purple Lines are scheduled for temporary service interruptions due to signal improvement work.
The partial closure will extend along the Purple Line between EaDo/ Stadium and Theater District stations. Normal rail service will be offered from EaDo/ Stadium to Palm Center Transit Center. Meanwhile, a complete closure of the Green Line from Altic/ Howard Hughes and Theater District stations will occur.
Service interruptions begin Friday, Nov. 4 at 10:00 p.m. Regular service resumes at 4:00 a.m Saturday, Nov. 12.
METRO will provide service via buses labeled "800 Shuttle" to bridge the closure and transport affected passengers. Signs at closed rail platforms will guide riders to nearby rail shuttle stops. Shuttle buses are scheduled every 12 minutes, but please allow for extra time to complete trips. METRO staff will also be on hand to assist riders during normal rail service hours. A bus bridge map can be found here.
This signal improvement work addresses axle counter malfunctions that have slowed METRORail service and increased travel time for drivers at rail crossings.
