Hop on Board! METRO Offers Free Ride to Polls

Registered voters in the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) service area are encouraged to hop on board METRO at no charge for a ride to the polls.  

Free local bus, METRORail and METROLift paratransit service for voters will be available Saturday, Oct. 29, Friday, Nov. 4 and Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters should inform bus operators or fare inspectors they are going to or returning from the polls in order to receive the free rides.

"Voter participation is at the heart of democracy," said METRO Chair Carrin Patman. "It's important that we do our part to ensure voters can get to a voting booth."
