Service Interruption Planned For METRORail Green/ Purple Lines To Make Way For Super Bowl Preps

 

Downtown Houston is busy with preparations for Super Bowl LI including work at the Marriott Marquis, Houston First and Texaco buildings.  Those various construction projects near METRORail's Convention District Station and METRO signal work at Harrisburg and Lockwood will interrupt service on the Green and Purple lines.  The interruption will span five consecutive evenings next week.


Starting Sunday, July 17 until Thursday, July 21 rail service on the Green and Purple lines will be suspended between the hours of 10:30 p.m. - 4:00 a.m. The entire Green Line will be closed during those hours. Meanwhile, service along the Purple Line will be suspended from the Theater District to EaDo Stadium Stations. 

   

METRO customers will experience uninterrupted service.  During the impacted regular service hours, rail shuttle buses will help customers reach their destinations along the impacted segments. The buses will run every 10 minutes.  Click on the map below to view which portions of the rail lines service will be suspended.
