As excitement builds for Copa América Centenario, METRO helps kick off the Houston festivities by giving the historic Copa América Trophy a lift to meet with soccer fans at the Dynamo vs. Real Salt Lake Fan Fest.
The Copa América Trophy will take METRORail to BBVA Compass Stadium, one of several landmark stops on the Copa Trophy Tour. Members of the media are invited to a photo opportunity on the EADO platform at 2:15 p.m. this Saturday, May 14.
WHAT: Copa América Trophy rides METRORail
WHEN: Saturday, May 14 at 2:15 p.m.
START: Theater District Station Eastbound Platform (Smith & Rusk Streets) Train will leave promptly at 2:30 p.m.
END: EADO Station - BBVA Compass Station Entrance (anticipated arrival time is 2:45 p.m.)

The original Copa América trophy dates to 1917 and was designed and created in Argentina. In 2011, a new version, based on the nearly 100-year-old design, was commissioned. Copa América Centenario will be the largest, global soccer event in the U.S. since the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
