METRO Service Resumes Today, Delays May Occur Due to Debris and Detours

Decision Made to Resume Service with Some Exceptions

  • METRORail, METROLift and most bus operations resume today for key bus routes:
  • Park & Rides (P&R) are open with the exception of the 217 Cypress and 228 Addicks remain closed.
  • METRORail is operating on all three lines

Routes have been surveyed and cleared but patrons are advised that delays may occur as detours are adapted to METRO's routine schedules. Additionally all METRO HOV/HOT lanes are open for drivers.

Further updates will follow throughout the day. The break in service is due to mud and debris and other issues within the service area.

Riders are encouraged to monitor local news and weather reports and METRO Twitter and Facebook pages for timely information regarding transit. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system

Customers Note:

  • METRO’s T.R.I.P. app may not be an accurate source of “next bus” arrival during times of schedule fluctuation.
  • Check for service alerts at www.ridemetro.org. You may experience delays when calling METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000 during this period.

METRO advises riders to monitor local media, and the National Weather Service for information updates. Current roadway conditions are available on TranStar’s Real-Time Traffic Map.  Houston TranStar is a consortium of government agencies coordinating transportation and emergency management for Harris County and beyond. Sharing resources with METRO to serve the area are: Harris County,  City of Houston and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with websites providing information about safety, weather, traffic and more during emergencies.
