METRO Halts Morning Service Continues Weather Watch
METRO is continuing to monitor the weather and flooding conditions as it pulls all its vehicles, rail and bus, and HOV/HOT lanes - from service. Today's catastrophic weather event has resulted in extremely dangerous and widespread flooding. The conditions have forced the city of Houston and Harris County to shut down all but emergency services.
Riders are asked to monitor current news and weather as well as METRO Twitter and Facebook pages for timely information regarding commutes. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system. Patrons are advised that the Authority operates under the same traffic and weather conditions as the general public so please be patient and know that we will be back on the road as soon as we can safely do so.
Customers Note:
- METRO’s T.R.I.P. app may not be an accurate source of “next bus” arrival during times of schedule fluctuation.
-
Check for service alerts at www.ridemetro.org. You may experience delays when calling METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000 during this period.
METRO advises riders to monitor local media, and the National Weather Service for information updates. Current roadway conditions are available on TranStar’s Real-Time Traffic Map. Houston TranStar is a consortium of government agencies coordinating transportation and emergency management for Harris County and beyond. Sharing resources with METRO to serve the area are: Harris County, City of Houston and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with websites providing information about safety, weather, traffic and more during emergencies.
