The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on a New Bus Network,METRORail's expanded system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). METRO’s services also include: STAR Vanpool, METROLift, HOV/HOT lanes, Bike & Ride program, Park & Ride, and road improvement projects. ASTROS Fans Can Cover Their Bases, Ride METRO & Save

METRO wants to take Astros fans out to the ball game. As baseball season heats up, fans are reminded METRORail and bus service is a convenient and economical way to reach Minute Maid Park. Patrons can pay at rail stations or use their smart phones with the Q-Mobile Ticketing app.

Parking Solutions

METRO also offers an affordable parking solution at the Fannin South Lot. Patrons can park for just $3 and easily access METRORail. There are a limited number of free spaces at the Palms Center and HCC Northline, which are both near METRORail stops.

Transportation Solutions

The Convention District stop on the Purple and Green lines is less than a 5 minute walk to Minute Maid. Fans who want to leave all of the driving to METRO can use the Trip Planner app. METRO recently launched the new Alerts twitter page and Next Bus Texting. Both services can help riders save time with route updates.

Photo Contest

Astros fans taking METRO to the games are invited to snap a picture and enter the #METRO2stros photo contest by April 25.
