Doubled Capacity and Plan for New Grand Parkway Garage Readied by METRO

On Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, METRO will open 448 new parking spaces at the Grand Parkway Park & Ride facility (I-10 West and the Grand Parkway). The expansion more than doubles current capacity, increasing the number of available parking spaces from 423 to 871.

The additional slots will address overcrowding at the lot due to the rapid growth of Katy and surrounding area. METRO worked diligently with neighbor Cinemark Theaters and landlord New Quest Properties to provide a mutually agreeable solution.

METRO employees will be on-site at Grand Parkway Oct. 21 through opening day to provide handouts about the parking improvements and answer commuter questions.

And commuters have even more to be excited about as METRO's Board of Directors approve a plan to build a 1,650-space parking garage on site. Completion of the project is expected by Fall of 2016.

Current and new parking spaces at METRO's Grand Parkway Park & Ride can be seen below.
