METRO's New Bus Network Countdown

100 DAYS TO MORE SERVICE, BETTER SERVICE, YOUR SERVICE

WHAT: METRO Board Chairman Gilbert Garcia, Board members and staff kick off

the official 100 day countdown to METRO's New Bus Network. METRO will provide information about the new routes, hi-tech tools for customers and new career opportunities at METRO.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015

WHERE: METRO Headquarters, 1900 Main, Houston, TX 77002

METRO is doing something unprecedented for the region and the transit agency. When METRO’s New Bus Network rolls out on Aug. 16 it will be connecting one million people to one million jobs. The new service links our workforce and other riders to more destinations during the week and on weekends. METRO's New Bus Network offers simpler routes and better connections to buses and light-rail lines. The network improves service based on the needs of today's commuters and anticipates future needs with the possibility of expansion.

Existing Routes New Routes

METRO's New Bus Network will be easy to use with tech tools helping you navigate routes and stay on time. Next Bus Texting will offer real-time arrival information right from your mobile phone. The Dual Trip Planner web tool will map out an itinerary for riders seven days a week. Plus, ridemetro.org has interactive maps and route-by-route breakdowns.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day.
