Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC)-Workplace Safety Offers OSHA Training to Veterans

The nearly 1.6 million veterans in Texas deserve the support, skills, and training needed to succeed in the civilian workplace. These tips provide information on the importance of OSHA training and how it can help the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces transition with confidence into new careers after leaving the military.

New COVID-19 Resources from OSHA

OSHA continues to update its COVID-19 webpage for employers and workers. Resources issued between July 1 and September 30 include:

• Updated Frequently Asked Questions and Answers 
• Alerts for the Food Truck, Hair and Nail Salon, and In-Home Repair Service industries; and for Restaurants Resuming Dine-In Service
• Posters for Fish and Seafood and Meat, Poultry, and Pork Processing and Packaging; and the Automotive Service and Cleaning industries
• An Employee Health and Food Safety Checklist for Human and Animal Food Operations During the Pandemic (developed with the Food and Drug Administration)
• Guidance on the Use of Cloth Face Coverings while Working Indoors or Outdoors in Hot and Humid Conditions
• Guidance on Compliance with OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard During the COVID-19 Pandemic
• Wallet Card on Agricultural Worker Safety

Free Online Safety Consultations

The Texas OSHA Consultation Program (OSHCON) offers online consultations. Our OSHCON consultants are available by video conferencing, email, text, or phone. We can help you find, reduce, and remove safety and health hazards, and understand OSHA standards.

OSHCON also provides:
