Effective Friday, January 19, 2024, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) will be combining the individual weekly influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19 surveillance reports into one report. The combined report will be titled the Texas Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report. A new dashboard, the “Respiratory Illness Dashboard” will also be available and will contain respiratory illness data including emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and deaths associated with flu, RSV, and COVID-19.
We are excited to provide these new tools to support and inform our public health partners and communities about respiratory illness across the state.
The combined report contains all the data from the three individual reports and will be posted every Friday on a new DSHS webpage: https://www.dshs.texas.gov/texas-respiratory-virus-surveillance-report.
A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Document about the report is available on the new webpage as well as links to prior Flu, RSV, and COVID-19 weekly reports. For additional questions about the report, email flutexas@dshs.texas.gov or eaidu-coronavirus@dshs.texas.gov or call 512-776-7676.
The new dashboard can be accessed starting January 19, 2024 @ Texas Respiratory Illness Interactive Dashboard.
For questions about the dashboard, you may email kristen.sanchez@dshs.texas.gov.
