DFPS Stakeholder Forum on Child Care
Texas Health and Human Services Commission sent this bulletin at 03/01/2012 04:50 PM CST / Este e-mail ha sido enviado por Texas Health and Human Services Commission el 03/01/2012 04:50 PM CSTThe Texas Department of Family and Protective Services will hold a stakeholder forum on Monday, March 12, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the public hearing room (125E), first floor, John Winters Human Services Complex, 701 W. 51st St., Austin, TX 78751.
The forum, hosted by the Committee on Licensing Standards, will let stakeholders share their thoughts on child/caregiver ratios and maximum group sizes in licensed child-care centers.
Although DFPS is only gathering information and not proposing changes at this time, the forum will let parents, providers, and child-care advocates share their ideas, concerns, and recommendations about ratios and group sizes with Committee members. To ensure an opportunity for all who wish to make comments, we request that testimony be limited to 3 minutes per person and focus on one or more of the following questions:
- What are the benefits of reducing child:caregiver ratios and group sizes?
- What are your concerns related to reducing child:caregiver ratios and group sizes?
- What changes, if any, to child:caregiver ratio and group sizes do you recommend?
