How to Determine MSLs for Back-to-School Season

To appropriately determine maximum stock levels (MSLs) for the back-to-school season, calculations utilize doses administered data from the previous June, July, August, and September. MSLs will be calculated in this format beginning in June to prepare providers for the back-to-school rush. See page 27 of the TVFC and ASN Provider Manual for more information.

Events

Returning Multi-Dose Vials

Influenza vaccine from the 2020-2021 season expires on June 30, 2021. Providers may return any unused doses that have not been tampered with. As a reminder, providers should NOT return opened multi-dose vials.

Expiring 2020-2021 Flu Vaccine

The majority of 2020-2021 influenza doses expire June 30, 2021 (some may expire earlier). Once the vaccine has expired, you must fill out a Vaccine Loss Report (VLR) in EVI to begin the return process. More information here.

2nd Round Flu Pre-Book Ordering

2021-2022 2nd round influenza pre-book ordering opens on Monday, June 28, 2021. These doses will be delivered after 1st round orders are filled. The deadline to complete 2nd round order is Monday, July 12, 2021. Learn more.

Plan for the 2021 Storm Season

Vaccine Management Plans are a TVFC Program requirement and need to be current. As hurricane season arrives, providers should make preparedness plans which includes updating Vaccine Management Plans. Read more.

CDC Releases New/Updated Resources to Support COVID Vaccination

In mid-May, CDC released new and updated resources to support COVID-19 vaccination efforts. From a new pediatric toolkit and FAQ about consent for minors to myth-busters about infertility, you’ll find a dozen informative topics for healthcare and vaccine providers, parent and adolescents as well as the links to access them.
