COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics for Regional Employees, Contractors, Family and Friends

HHSC and DSHS Employees,

The following message is intended for regional staff. Please disregard the GovDelivery message regarding second dose clinics in Austin that was inadvertently sent to regional offices this morning.

DSHS is holding first dose COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Grand Prairie. These events will administer the Moderna vaccine and are for all interested HHSC and DSHS employees, contractors, family members and friends in Dallas County communities. There is no cost for the vaccination.

Who is Eligible

All HHSC and DSHS employees, contractors, family members and friends who are 18 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine during these events. If you have family members or friends 18 and older who are interested in vaccination, forward this email to them and have them follow these instructions.

Location, Dates and Registration

Participants must register and schedule an appointment using the online Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler (TPHVS). Sign up by clicking on the link below for your preferred date. (If you are already registered with the TPHVS, schedule by calling the Texas Vaccine Support Center at 833-832-7067 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m., seven days a week.)

You will receive an email confirmation with event details and a QR code. You can view appointment details by logging in to your TPHVS account.

Special Accommodations Email ceshelp@dshs.texas.gov with any special accommodation needs at least three days before the clinic date.

Rescheduling/Canceling

If you need to reschedule your appointment, call the Texas Vaccine Support Center at 833 832-7067 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.

If you need to cancel your appointment, log in to your TPHVS account. Then follow the appointment cancellation prompts.

After Your Vaccination

Register with V-SAFE, a smartphone-based, after-vaccination health checker. V-SAFE is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention system that uses text messaging and web surveys to check in with vaccine recipients for possible side effects following COVID-19 vaccination. It also follows up with anyone who reports medically significant side effects.

Second Doses

If you are receiving your first dose during any of these clinics, you will automatically be scheduled for your second dose appointment. The Texas Vaccine Support Center will notify you of the appointment time using your preferred contact method (email or text).

Thank you for your interest in protecting your health and the health of our fellow Texans by receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
