GL 20-5002-A Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) Requirements During the COVID-19 Pandemic Amended

GL 20-5002-A regarding the extension of emergency rules related to LCDC-I requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic has been posted. Effective February 14, 2021, this emergency rule is extended for 60 days.

This emergency rule temporarily permits the following to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and ensure that LCDC interns and their supervisors are able to continue working and providing treatment to their patients during the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Certain licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) interns with more than 1,000 hours of supervised work experience may temporarily provide services in person or through two-way, real-time internet or telephone communications, and
  • Certain qualified counselor intern supervisors may temporarily provide supervision through two-way, real-time internet or telephone communications.
