COVID-19 Vaccine NDC Update

HHSC received reports of pharmacies using the National Drug Code listed on the package box of COVID-19 vaccines rather than the NDCs of the individual vial. To avoid access to care issues, the Vendor Drug Program added the following COVID vaccine NDCs listed on the box to the Medicaid and CHIP formularies on Jan. 4, 2021:

  • Pfizer
    • NDC 59267-1000-02 (outer packaging for a carton of 195 vials)
  • Moderna
    • NDC 80777-0273-99 (outer packaging for a carton of 10 vials)
