Notice of Publication of COVID-19 Data

On July 17, 2020, Child Care Regulation (CCR) sent COVID-19 Reporting Requirements for Child Care Providers reminding you of the self-reporting requirements when a child or employee tests positive for COVID-19 at your operation. The self-reporting requirements are outlined in the Minimum Standards not only help to ensure DSHS, CCR and parents stay informed of potential health and safety issues but also to provide you an opportunity to obtain necessary guidance from the health department to curve the spread of COVID-19.

CCR has been asked to inform the public about positive COVID-19 cases in child care settings as a means to help parents make informed decisions about child care for their families. CCR will begin posting on the HHSC Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage an excel spreadsheet of self-reported positive COVID-19 cases in child care settings on 8/20/2020. The data will be posted daily (Monday - Friday, except state holidays) and include the names and addresses of all child care centers, school-age programs, and before and after-school programs that have self-reported positive COVID-19 cases to CCR.

We know child care operations are taking precautions to curve the spread of COVID-19, and self-reports demonstrate your level of professionalism and the critical role you have in keeping children in your care safe. Your operation continues to be responsible for self-reporting positive COVID-19 cases per Minimum Standards. The HHSC Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage will refer individuals to the Search Texas Child Care to find an operation’s capacity and compliance history.

We appreciate your continued collaboration.  Email questions to MSC.
