You are subscribed to the Texas Department of State Health Services School Nurse Practice Resources list serve.
Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) School Health Program is conducting a survey to identify school nurses that are interested in assisting with contact tracing. Contact tracing is a method used to find and follow-up with people who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. People who were around this individual are called contacts. By tracing the contacts of COVID-19 cases, having them self-isolate, if necessary, and testing, when appropriate, we can reduce the spread of coronavirus.
The information you provide may be given to DSHS leadership, local health departments, regional health departments, the Texas School Nurses Organization (TSNO) and/or the Alliance-Health Services. If you are selected to assist with contact tracing, you will be contacted with more information.
For information about contact tracing, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/open-america/contact-tracing.html. Please contact Anita Wheeler, MSN, RN, School Health Program Coordinator, at anita.wheeler@dshs.texas.gov with any questions.
