Glenda Dawson Donate Life – Texas Registry

 About the Program

Texans can register to be organ, tissue and eye donors online by visiting the Donate Life – Texas Registry or when they renew their driver license or personal identification card. The program is funded by a $1 voluntary contribution that Texans can make when renewing their driver license or identification card or when registering their motor vehicle. In 2007, the Donor Education, Awareness, and Registry program was renamed the Glenda Dawson Donate Life – Texas Registry by the Texas legislature in memory of Representative Dawson's contributions to organ donation in the State of Texas.

Purchased Health Services Unit

The Glenda Dawson Donate Life – Texas Registry is part of the Purchased Health Services Unit (PHSU). The unit purchases services through its benefit programs for clients. The other programs in PHSU are the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program, the Hemophilia Assistance Program, and the Kidney Health Care Program. Details about the other programs are on their web pages.
