In accordance with Public Law 107-51, President Barack Obama has ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half staff on Sunday, October 16th, 2011. This is in observance of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

Accordingly, the Texas State Flag should also be flown at half staff for the entire day. Flags should return to full staff on Monday, October 17, 2011.
