Councilman Chris Jamieson's District 10 Newsletter: June 2026

The City of Fort Worth maintains a database of neighborhood, community, and faith-based organizations to facilitate the distribution of important information and communication, including Courtesy Zoning Notifications. Registration with the City is not required, but highly recommended.   

We are pleased to introduce Samuel Betancourt as your new District 10 Community Engagement Liaison. Samuel looks forward to connecting with neighborhood leaders, community organizations, HOAs, and residents throughout District 10 to strengthen communication and engagement between City Hall and our community.

Each year, the City of Fort Worth must decide how to allocate limited resources to provide services to the community. The Budget Priorities Survey is a new opportunity for residents to share which services matter most to them and provide input on possible changes. The survey is anonymous and the feedback collected will help City leaders understand community priorities during the Fiscal Year 2027 budget development process. We encourage you to complete the survey and help inform the FY27 budget.

POSITIVE West Nile Virus Notification

A positive sample was collected in your area near Trap Site# 41, 11400 Willow Springs Rd, Fort Worth TX 76052.

It’s extremely important that our community continue to work together to reduce the mosquito population by removing mosquito habitats from their property and reminding their neighbors to do the same.

The most effective means of protection, even more than spraying, is to stay focused on the reduction of the mosquito population:

• Please remove all standing water in empty flowerpots, pet bowls, outdoor toys, gutters, etc.

• Maintain your swimming pool.

• When you’re outdoors, remember to wear repellent that contains DEET.

• Limit outdoor activities from dusk to dawn and wear long sleeves and pants when applicable.

IMPORTANT UPDATES

Continued vigilance in preventing the spread of mosquito-borne viruses in our community is essential.

• Since there have been West Nile Virus-positive mosquitoes in your neighborhood, the City’s Environmental Services Department officers will be monitoring the area looking for standing water, litter, and debris that could invite mosquitoes to breed and nest.

• You can help by keeping your grass mowed, gutters cleaned, trees trimmed, and dried leaves raked.

If there’s an issue with standing water at a location that is not city property, report it to the City’s Customer Care Center at 817-392-1234.

The City of Fort Worth is hosting a public open house for the Wagley Robertson Road Project, from Quicksilver Trail to Coneflower Trail in Tarrant County, Texas. This project will involve raising and widening this section of Wagley Robertson Road to a four-lane, divided roadway with a concrete median.

Fort Worth Animal Care and Control is inviting the community to celebrate the dedication of Henry’s Animal Campus with a special mega summer adoption event.

The event marks the official renaming of the City’s north animal campus in honor of Fort Worth’s beloved late K9 Ambassador, Henry, whose legacy transformed animal welfare efforts across the city.

For 13 years, Henry served as a dedicated advocate for shelter pets across the metroplex, helping raise awareness for adoption and making a lasting impact on countless animals and families. 

Enjoy a family friendly afternoon filled with activities for all ages, including an educational kids corner, face painting, facility tours, refreshments and more. Guests can meet adoptable pets, connect with our team, and learn more about the adoption process, as well as volunteer and foster opportunities.

BONUS: Arrive early for a free vaccination clinic from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
