Central Texas Flooding Disaster Relief
My office joins our fellow Texans in mourning the tragic loss of life in the Hill Country due to devastating flooding. Our hearts and prayers are with the families impacted and also with our very brave local (including a team from Fort Worth Fire Department), state, and federal first responders involved in search and rescue efforts.
3 Fort Worth ways to support those impacted by the floods in Central Texas:
1. Kerr County Flood Relief Fund: Your donation to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund will directly support the communities of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort. The foundation will channel funds to vetted organizations providing rescue, relief, and recovery efforts as well as flood assistance. https://www.communityfoundation.net/
2. Mental Health and Counseling Services: Those in need of mental health support in our community during this time can contact My Health My Resources of Tarrant County (24/7) by calling or texting 800–866–2464. Parents can also utilize the Parent Pass App to search for resources specifically for children.
3. Fort Worth Area Restaurants Showing Support: 100% of sales at La Bistro Italian Grill will go to flood victims from now until July 10. Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine will also donate 10% of all sales from Jon’s Grille, Buffalo Bros, Bonnell’s, and Waters for the next five days to flood relief, from counseling services for families to feeding first responders.
Donation Drive
The City of Kerrville has partnered with the Salvation Army to accept donations on behalf of those in need. A list of items has been requested (as seen on the flyer).
The Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments are now asking for our community’s help and support by donating to those people in need. By donating any of these items, we can all make a difference.
We celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking of the newest Kroger Marketplace in North Texas! Soon, residents will have a long-awaited grocery store at the Northeast corner of Sendera Ranch Blvd and Rancho Canyon Way in the Sendera Ranch community of North Fort Worth.
The 122,000 square foot Kroger Marketplace will feature a Starbucks, sushi counter, a Murray's Cheese counter, home goods, apparel, and toys.
A very welcome addition to District 10 and the City of Fort Worth! Thank you, Kroger!
It was a fantastic Saturday with a great turnout celebrating former Mayor Betsy Price at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Betsy Price Community Center!
The Betsy Price Community Center is a legacy investment not just in infrastructure, but in people. A center that will serve today's residents and tomorrow's generations, offering a beautiful park and community space where families grow, neighbors connect, and community thrives.
Thank you to everyone who attended this special event for North Fort Worth! Wetter weather and taller grass are prime conditions for mosquito breeding grounds. Mosquito season is upon us once again, and the City of Fort Worth is starting its annual monitoring of mosquito activity by trapping and testing for mosquito-borne viruses across our city. As we enter another active mosquito season, residents can take proactive steps to safeguard themselves and their community. This includes regularly removing standing water from containers, outdoor furniture, toys, hoses, or bird baths in your yard; using insect repellent with DEET; and maintaining trimmed lawns to minimize potential breeding sites. The City of Fort Worth provides free supplies for mosquito control and prevention, such as mosquito dunks and insect repellent containing DEET. Contact the Environmental Services Consumer Health Division, at ConsumerHealth@fortworthtexas.gov, for more information.
