I had the pleasure of attending the board cutting ceremony for the brand-new North Fort Worth Lowe's Home Improvement!
This new location means more local jobs, greater convenience for homeowners and contractors (just in time for summer improvement projects), and a strong investment in our community’s growth.
The Lowe's team made generous donations to the Greater North Texas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Women in Successful Entrepreneurship, and Haslet Sports Association!
A big thank you to the Lowe's team, City staff, community partners, and everyone who made this possible. Let’s keep building a stronger community, one board at a time!
Give them a visit at: 12980 US 287 at Avondale-Haslet Rd.
It was my privilege and honor to share in celebrating this special day with the Fort Worth Fire Department. Congratulations to the graduates of Recruit Classes #98 and #99!

ENGAGEMENT
The City of Fort Worth is preparing for a May 2026 Bond Election. But before we make decisions on future investments in our city, we want to hear from you to better understand how the City can ensure your voice is heard and your priorities are reflected. More specifically, we want to learn in what ways and how frequently you prefer to be involved throughout the bond planning process. Your input will help shape the City's public outreach efforts between now and the May 2026 bond election to ensure the public engagement process reaches the maximum number of residents possible.

Work on the city’s budget for fiscal year 2026 is underway! Each year, this process helps us plan how to use public dollars to support city services, programs and projects that matter to our community.
FWLab staff will share updates at City Council work sessions from April through August. These meetings are a chance for the City Council and the community to learn more about what’s shaping the budget.
In August, the city manager will share a recommended budget with the City Council. Then in September, the council will vote on the final budget and tax rate for the upcoming year. The new fiscal year starts Oct. 1, 2025.
Stay tuned for updates throughout the process!

Wetter weather and taller grass are prime conditions for mosquito breeding grounds. Mosquito season is upon us once again, and the City of Fort Worth is starting its annual monitoring of mosquito activity by trapping and testing for mosquito-borne viruses across our city. As we enter another active mosquito season, residents can take proactive steps to safeguard themselves and their community. This includes regularly removing standing water from containers, outdoor furniture, toys, hoses, or bird baths in your yard; using insect repellent with DEET; and maintaining trimmed lawns to minimize potential breeding sites. The City of Fort Worth provides free supplies for mosquito control and prevention, such as mosquito dunks and insect repellent containing DEET. Contact the Environmental Services Consumer Health Division, at ConsumerHealth@fortworthtexas.gov, for more information.
