Friends and Neighbors,
Spring is officially here, and with it comes a renewed sense of energy and connection throughout District 11. It’s been a joy engaging with so many of you as the season unfolds.
We closed out March with the annual Cowtown Cleanup, a citywide effort that brings neighbors together in service and pride. I’m grateful for everyone who came out to help keep Fort Worth beautiful—your time and effort make a lasting impact.
Spring often brings a spirit of renewal. As the rain nourishes the earth and flowers begin to bloom, many of us turn our focus to refreshing our homes and routines. On March 22nd, District 11 partnered with Frost Bank and fellow council members to host a Home Event at Texas Wesleyan University, offering first-time homebuyer resources, DIY repair tips, and connections to local service providers. I hope everyone who attended left with helpful tools and new ideas.
We also partnered with the Worth Heights Neighborhood Association and the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work to host two Estate Planning Workshops, where industry experts shared valuable information on the appraisal process and how to file for homestead exemptions.
April also marks National Library Month, and this year’s theme—“Drawn to the Library”—encourages us to rediscover the magic and inspiration libraries provide. District 11 is home to six incredible libraries, and I invite you to visit one this month to enjoy a family-friendly event, participate in reading activities, or simply find a quiet spot to dive into a great book.
As always, I’m committed to finding meaningful ways to connect with you and support our community. Thank you for all you do to make District 11 such a vibrant place to live.

La primavera está oficialmente aquí, y con ella llega un renovado sentido de la energía y la conexión en todo el Distrito 11. GET READY FOR THE 2026 BOND
The City of Fort Worth is preparing for a May 2026 Bond Election. But before we make decisions on future investments in our city, we want to hear from you to better understand how the City can ensure your voice is heard and your priorities are reflected. More specifically, we want to learn in what ways, and how frequently, you prefer to be involved throughout the bond planning process. Your input will help shape the City's public outreach efforts between now and the May 2026 bond election to ensure the public engagement process reaches the maximum number of residents possible.
What is a Bond?
A bond is a way for cities to fund larger, longer-range capital projects, such as roads, infrastructure and facilities that are too costly to pay for with the city’s annual operating budget.
Why is the 2026 Bond Program needed?
Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and this bond helps improve infrastructure, public safety, and community services to keep up with demand. No tax rate increase is planned, ensuring the city can grow responsibly while staying fiscally responsible. The bond will fund essential projects in transportation, parks, public safety, city facilities, and more to improve daily life for all residents.
How can residents give feedback?
Public engagement meetings will be held in every city council district from April to September 2025. Residents can also participate in online surveys and virtual town halls.
Project List
The draft project list will be refined, based on public feedback. City Council will approve the final list in late 2025. A public education campaign will be held in Spring 2026 prior to the May 2026 bond election.
When is the bond election taking place?
The public vote is scheduled for May 2026.

La Ciudad de Fort Worth se está preparando para la Elección de Bonos de Mayo de 2026. Pero antes de tomar decisiones sobre futuras inversiones en nuestra ciudad, queremos saber de usted para entender mejor cómo la Ciudad puede asegurar que su voz sea escuchada y sus prioridades se reflejen. The quarterly Breakfast at the BAC series shines a spotlight on local Fort Worth business owners who share the real-world stories behind their entrepreneurial journey — the wins, the setbacks and the lessons learned — over coffee and breakfast.
The return of the series kicks off with Doug Renfro, President of Renfro Foods Inc., who will discuss how his family business — which began at his grandparents’ house in the 1940s — has grown into a thriving global brand.

Never forget your waste collection day or bulk set-out week again with the city’s free Garbage and Recycling app.
The app provides residents with reminders for waste collection days, including garbage, recycling, bulk and yard waste. Notifications also include updates on learning events offered by Solid Waste Services, including backyard composting classes, and special events. Residents can choose between push notifications from the app, text messages, emails or voice messages.
The Waste Wizard also helps determine if an item is recyclable and how to dispose of it properly.

APRIL IS LIBRARY MONTH
In honor of Library Month, we’re excited to celebrate not only the incredible role libraries play in our community, but also the newest addition to our team – Cindy Rich, the new Branch Manager of the Reby Cary Youth Library! With her lifelong love for learning, Cindy’s journey has led her from classroom teacher to passionate librarian. She holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on ESL and earned her MLIS from the University of North Texas, with certifications in School Librarianship and Youth Services.
Cindy brings almost six years of experience as an elementary school librarian and most recently served on the Fort Worth Public Library’s Education and Outreach Team. She’s thrilled to take on this new role and looks forward to building strong relationships with the neighborhood community, welcoming youth from all over Fort Worth, and making Reby Cary Youth Library a vibrant space for exploration and growth.
As we celebrate Library Month and all the wonderful ways libraries enrich our lives, please join us in welcoming Cindy to the Reby Cary branch. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to see how Cindy helps this library continue to shine as a place for learning, creativity, and connection!
ABRIL ES EL MES DE LAS BIBLIOTECAS
En honor al Mes de las Bibliotecas, nos complace celebrar no sólo el increíble papel que desempeñan las bibliotecas en nuestra comunidad, sino también la nueva incorporación a nuestro equipo: ¡Cindy Rich, la nueva Directora de la Biblioteca Juvenil Reby Cary! Con su amor por el aprendizaje de toda la vida, el viaje de Cindy la ha llevado de maestra a bibliotecaria apasionada. Ella tiene una Maestría en Currículo e Instrucción con un enfoque en ESL y obtuvo su MLIS de la Universidad del Norte de Texas, con certificaciones en Bibliotecología Escolar y Servicios Juveniles.
