City of Fort Worth celebrates the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on the New Council Chambers
Special thank you to our District 10 residents, who came and spoke on Day 1, thanking elected officials for protecting assets and caring for teachers, students, and families of North Fort Worth! A truly great day!
Breaking ground of the future Far Northwest Library, let's get this library party started!
The Far NW Library Groundbreaking marks a huge win for our community! Thanks to your voices, advocacy, and dedication, City of Fort Worth is investing in the north—bringing the resources and amenities you asked for. In just 12-14 months, we’ll cut the ribbon on a brand-new library—a fun, safe, and educational hub that will be a vital part of life in North Fort Worth! This is YOUR library, built by the strength of your voices.
A special thanks to Mayor Mattie Parker and our incredible community partners who helped make this happen:
Fishing Fun
Hooked on Community! Cabela's, Fort Worth Police Department - North Division, and Northwest ISD’s Adaptive P.E. Program teamed up for fishing, fun, and unforgettable memories! From casting lines to building bonds, this collaboration proves that community isn’t just a place, it’s a practice. Together, we’re helping neighbors, empowering teachers, supporting kids, and honoring heroes. Because every day brings a new chance to show up, give back, and make a splash in someone’s life.
2025 Meta Data Center Community Action Grant Awards
Thank you to Mayor Mattie Parker and the City of Fort Worth for hosting Meta Fort Worth Data Center's 2025 Meta Data Center Community Action Grant Awards from new City Hall. Meta’s Fort Worth Data Center calls District 10 home, and we are privileged to have a first-rate community partner! 18th Annual Police Memorial Ceremony
On May 7th, we gathered as a community for the Fort Worth Police Officers Association's 18th Annual Police Memorial Ceremony to honor the brave officers of the Fort Worth Police Department who had fallen in the line of duty. Standing together in solemn reflection, we reaffirmed our promise: our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.
Swearing In / Don Graves Day
At the May 13th City Council Meeting, I was honored to be sworn in as your City Councilmember for District 10 for another two years! Thank you for putting your trust in me to represent you on the council.
Additionally, I was joined by Mayor Parker, Councilmember Lauersdorf, and a U.S. Marine color guard in honoring Fort Worth resident, WWII United States Marine Corps veteran, and Iwo Jima survivor Don Graves. I presented him with a special recognition to his 100th birthday, a century of life filled with valor, resilience, and service! Mayor Parker proclaimed May 13th, 2025, as Don Graves Day in the City of Fort Worth!

ENGAGEMENT
Keller-Haslet Rd/ FM 156
Councilman Blaylock, City of Fort Worth staff, Haslet Mayor Hulsey, TxDOT, NCTCOG, and County officials reassembled to discuss signalizing the intersection of Keller Haslet Road Extension at FM156. - We are thrilled to report positive news from TXDOT! Traffic signalization at Keller Haslet Rd and 156 was determined warranted, and TXDOT will promptly begin to construct the installation of a temporary signal at the intersection. Temporary signalization is expected to be complete and operational in 3 months +/- weather permitting. TxDOT has the necessary materials and equipment on hand and will work with ONCOR to get electricity to the location. - Also confirmed, Main Street Haslet will remain open to two-way traffic until the signal is operational. - The City of Haslet has made modified the median at the corner of Keller Haslet Extension and Main Street to facilitate continued two-way traffic on Main Street. - The restriping of the roads and intersection may take some time to ensure that turning vehicles are adequately accommodated. - More good news! The ribbon was cut this morning, May 2nd, at 10:00 AM, and the new Keller Haslet extension is open to travel! Thank you to all our agency partners and key stakeholders for working collaboratively and prioritizing the collective well-being of our residents!

Wetter weather and taller grass are prime conditions for mosquito breeding grounds. Mosquito season is upon us once again, and the City of Fort Worth is starting its annual monitoring of mosquito activity by trapping and testing for mosquito-borne viruses across our city. As we enter another active mosquito season, residents can take proactive steps to safeguard themselves and their community. This includes regularly removing standing water from containers, outdoor furniture, toys, hoses, or bird baths in your yard; using insect repellent with DEET; and maintaining trimmed lawns to minimize potential breeding sites. The City of Fort Worth provides free supplies for mosquito control and prevention, such as mosquito dunks and insect repellent containing DEET. Contact the Environmental Services Consumer Health Division, at ConsumerHealth@fortworthtexas.gov, for more information.
