Honored to attend the Fort Worth Fire Department Remembrance Ceremony on February 25th and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten, nor will their families.

The annual Tarrant County Days event was in full swing Feb. 10 and 11, in Austin. Several City of Fort Worth staff members were there to shake hands and share insights with state legislators and others during the 89th Texas Legislative Session.
Highlights from the two-day gathering included networking and meetings with elected and local officials and business leaders at the State Capitol. The event included opportunities for the group to hear from members of the Texas Legislature, including Speaker Dustin Burrows. Fort Worth officials also took time to engage with Fort Worth’s delegation in small group meetings, which focused on the needs and legislative priorities of the City of Fort Worth.
Why it matters: The annual gathering provides a platform for businesses and municipalities from across Tarrant County to discuss their legislative priorities and goals with state officials. It enables representatives of those organizations to engage with their elected officials one-on- one, fostering better relationships and understanding on both sides.

ENGAGEMENT
Neighborhood Advocate: Barbara Brewer ♥
Big thanks to D10 resident Barbara Brewer for making the trip to City Hall to speak up for our communities! Barbara expressed her gratitude to the City of Fort Worth for supporting residents and urged our leaders to adopt a comprehensive, consolidated Right-of-Way (ROW) ordinance.
She stated a strong ROW ordinance is essential to protect neighborhoods from reckless utility construction.
Why does a Right-of-Way ordinance matter?
- Protects public health, safety, and welfare
- Regulates excavations to minimize disruption
- Promotes efficient use of public spaces
- Prevents damage to nearby properties
- Helps avoid injury to people and public infrastructure
- Reduces the risk of service loss
- Requires timely service restoration
- Ensures full property restoration after work is complete
Barbara's dedication and advocacy is greatly appreciated ALL across our great city!
