District 10 Alan Blaylock

Dear Neighbors,

As we prepare for another exciting school year here in far north Fort Worth, I want to take a moment to focus on an important topic: the safety of our students. With the school year just around the corner, it's essential that we all do our part to ensure a safe and smooth transition back to classes.

Here are a few key tips for back-to-school safety:

  • School Zones: Always be vigilant and adhere to speed limits in school zones. Watch out for crossing guards and be prepared to stop for school buses.
  • Pedestrian Awareness: Remind children to use crosswalks and look both ways before crossing the street. Ensure they are aware of their surroundings and avoid distractions like phones while walking.
  • Bicycle Safety: If your child rides a bike to school, make sure they are wearing a helmet and that their bike is equipped with proper lights and reflectors. Review safe riding practices with them regularly.
  • Traffic Safety: Encourage students who ride in vehicles to wear their seat belts at all times. Also, remind them of the importance of not rushing when getting in and out of the car.

In addition to these tips, I’d like to invite you to join us for Councilman Blaylock's District 10 Town Hall. This event will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 12, at the Texas Motor Speedway. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with city leaders and discuss important topics such as public safety, development, and transportation. Your voice matters, and your participation is crucial in shaping the future of our community.

Let’s work together to make this school year a safe and successful one for all our students and I look forward to seeing you at the Town Hall!
